Showcase your team’s tradition, spirit, and innovation with the Game Day division. The routine should be entertaining, creative, and unique to your school.
The following elements must be included:
- Tradition: A section that highlights your team’s fight song or a similar community tradition.
Ex: Tradition skills or choreography - Crowd Connection: A section that is spirit raising and encourages audience engagement.
Ex: Chant, Song, Cheer - Performance: A section that brings the energy for entertainment via jazz, pom, hip hop, kick or any combination of these genres. Both band and popular music are permitted.
** If the number of dancers in your Game Day routine exceeds the threshold for your size classification, the score will not count towards your overall score. **
** A description of the above required elements and the number of PERFORMERS will be required during registration. **
Genre using newer philosophies of movement which depart from classical dance genres without losing the structure, form or technique.
Genre using “street” style movements that evolved from the hip-hop culture. This includes a wide range of styles including breaking, locking and popping.
An upbeat style of dance where the focus is on technical skills.
Varied kick sequences are performed with an emphasis on kick technique and height.
Genre using fluid body movements and control that combines elements of ballet, modern and jazz while incorporating technique.
Genre consisting of strong, sharp, linear movements focused on precision and placement.
A theme is acted out by using dance movements that fit the “character” of the routine.
This is a routine that does not fall into the other categories such as tap, ballet or a routine that is a clear fusion of different dance genres.

Poms used to create a visually effective, high energy routine, where the focus is on precision and placement.
Typically a themed performance utilizing staging, props, and/or back drops that extends longer than the time limit.
